What To Expect
Free To Choose
You are always free to choose where your vehicle is repaired. Insurers may recommend shops, but they cannot require you to use one.
Share Your Estimate
Give your shop a copy of your Nexterra estimate and ask them to follow the Supplement Instructions printed on it. Most shops are familiar with this process. If they have any questions, they are welcome to call us at any time.
Their Own Estimate
Your shop is not required to match our estimate — they write their own and submit supplements for the differences directly to Nexterra for approval.
Their Responsibility
Once received, Nexterra reviews the supplement per insurance carrier guidelines, ensures additional damages are supported, and submits to your insurance carrier for processing.
Carrier requirements
What your carrier requires from the repair shop to approve additional damages:
○ Written supplement estimate
○ Photos of the VIN sticker and odometer
○ Supporting photos of additional damages
○ Additional dent count and sizes by panel **All oversized dents need to be marked with a half dollar
magnet
○ Signed Direction-to-Pay when available
○ Helpful tip: Carriers prefer dent board/PDR lights in photos to ensure dents are clearly visible and it is
the most effective way to get your supplement approved quickly.
Repair Warranty
Scheduling, parts ordering, timeline, and repair quality are managed by that shop. Your repair warranty comes from them, not from Nexterra.
Important — PDR is a specialized skill not offered at every body shop.
